I’d have said that too, then I discovered online dating and met my dude. :)

Seriously though, if you want to talk over a problem or ask for suggestions for improving life, there’s lots of great folks here on nook (although it seems a bit dead I’m sure everyone logs in now and again. I always do). Or if your life’s just a bit dull at the moment I’m sure we can come up with some awesome suggestions to make it shiny again.

That is a very interesting way of putting it. I would never have thought of a satr rating of life. Well things for me are going ok and I would give myself a 4 out 5 star rating. I should be a 5 star cause Im getting married this year, but Im quickly finding everyone wants to give advice and tell me what I should have and do.

One out of five????? Come on, make some big changes, save up for some big trip, plant a tree, put in a vegie garden, go see some live music, DO SOMETHING.

Gosh, this sounds serious. I agree with nooknook…do something….get a life, make a life, live your life!….

Life is what you make it Priya - it can’t come to you, it is within you already. How you choose to live it though, is a reflection of where your thought processes take you.

Your attitude to life is only a thought and a thought can be changed!

I’ve lived a long time, and had many dramas in my life, but I realised a while ago, that we only come this way once and how we deal with those dramas can make or break us.

One star out of a possible five! Start looking at the most basic needs of your lifestyle already that are being fulfilled. You have food, a roof, reasonable health and intelligence because you operate a “Nook” I know it can’t be all bad because you have access to a computer!….it means you have available to you the means to take yourself away from that which ails you and go into the sunshine.

By “sunshine” it can be the physical type of walking in fresh air (I know after a month of being confined to a bed, it has the most wonderful smell in the world!) Or it can be the “sunshine” of taking yourself into a place of pleasant possibilities…..ring a friend, join an interest group, anything that stops you thinking unhappy thoughts that bring you to stage one of five possibilities.

Allow yourself a specified time of your day to feel sad, but then please try and move away from that sadness and think about something good that is happening to you…like retaining your health, or your job, whatever, and finding your happiness…It is there somewhere, but your mind has to be opened to accept a new idea.

If I could give you a hug I would - your profile tells us nothing about you, but everyone has something to share about themselves and I would love to know that your friends give you a five star for how they value you as a person

Wishing you a five star day soon - although you may have to work up to it!! Don’t want to get too big a shock - so make a list of your favourite things - or ask others for suggestions. Start with one a day, work up to three or more and rack up those stars!! :)

    Priya ………..I relate.

when you do not find joy in anything in your day to day life, trying to justify why you feel a one, is beyond you.

I summon up daily, a feeling from the past that gave me joy. I sketch this and paint it, and I tilt my head back and shut my eyes and believe that I can once again reincact that same feeling. Every day, I ask myself……what was the exact moment, when I felt joy, when no thought pattern interupted my mind.
And of course that email that goes around reminding us………..to someone we are their world. Try to find the joy!!! If not for ourselves…….then for those that love us.

You are quite right, Priya. There is only one star in your life - YOU. And until you look at the enormity of the universe that is all there will ever be.

Be a star, shine your light on others and let others shine their light on you.

    Sparkle, you might enjoy it.
